possibly be a list maker and rank ideas in the order of which you have the most material for, and say you will not progress to number 2 until number 1 is done. of course, done, can be very subjective, but you could maybe set 3 month deadlines or something?

Thanks, Marion! I just might kick a few cabinets, and spend the weekend mulling over my choice. You're right though, eventually I hope to write both, so... it's just a matter of doing the work now or later. Either way, it's going to take a lot longer than hoped to get something out there and sold. Oh well... we don't write and pursue publication because it's easy, right? :)

I'd go procrastinate, if I'm honest. Or kick a few cabinets. It sounds like a difficult choice to make. Of course, one thing that might make it easier for you is that you like the thought of writing in multiple genres. So if you do start from scratch in a new genre, you'll just do all that work sooner than you'd anticipated, but it won't be anything you'd NEVER have done if chick-lit still sold. Whatever it is you'll end up doing, I hope it's going to be a fun project that sells.
