I've had them double and triple-stacked for so long, I couldn't find anything. The new shelves are supposed to help me organize! But... I guess I'll have to use that space eventually... Justin -- The are partially alphabetical and partially Library of Congress organized. Then when there were too many books and not enough shelves, it got impossible to do. Yep, my plan is to fix that very soon... :D Horst -- But at least someone is getting value out of your books! It'd be hard to let them go... but you know they're going somewhere to do some good, rather than just getting set in a box at Goodwill. Susan -- I also use the library, and my eReader. Doesn't help... it just means more books. LOL!!! Gyran -- I'm envisioning you as a small child, surrounded by stacks of books, looking slightly terrified you'll get buried alive, but also rather content to be in a room full of books... haha. The thought of getting rid of any of them literally brings me to tears, at which point my boyfriend accuses me of being a hoarder. I have an kindle now, and will most likely relegate all future book purchases to the electronic variety. Oh, the time's are a changing. However, the library was a wonderful invention! I get to borrow books and return them to their place of permanent residence when I'm done with them. Truly, I hardly ever re-read a book I've already read - do you? Also, there's that not-quite-the-same, but nonetheless marvellous, invention called the e-reader :D I feel your pain; I too am a bibliophile with not enough space for books. When my wife and I sold our house 18 months ago, I had to clear out most of my books. I donated most of them to a fundraiser book sale raising money for our Children's hospital. The books had to go because we were moving from a 6 bedroom house into a 2 bedroom seniors apartment. There's very little space here. the number of books I've accumulated since we moved in here is ridiculous - the only room that doesn't have piles of books is the kitchen (well --- there are a few cookbooks). My wife has told me that from now on I have to get rid of 2 books for everyone that I bring in to our place. I guess the Children's hospital will be the beneficiary again. I can relate.
