In My Mailbox

Posted by: Faith   in Rye Thoughts

In my mailbox is a weekly meme started by The Story Siren to showcase books you’ve received for review, bought, borrowed, or swapped. Anyone can participate, and it’s a great way to showcase new books and encourage blogger/commenter interaction!

Here’s what came this week! …and yes, I know I’m a little slow on the draw this week, but I bought a book on Sunday afternoon, so that pushed back the post. :)

For Review

Totally Unrelated to Books But I Think It’s Awesome Anyway

Yep, that’s right — it’s a mini top hat (creepy model head not included), by Etsy seller fairyqueen59, who you should definitely check out if you’re into steampunk/cosplay/gothic/vintage clothes & accessories.

What came in YOUR mailbox this week? Anything exciting, even if it wasn’t books?!

Aw, I got nothing good in my mail this week. Sniff. A few bills.
Sniff.
I will live vicariously through you and your mail this week.
:)
p.s. I love that top hat! Maybe not for work, but for a masquerade party!

Isn’t the hat fun?! I got it to wear for a dance performance in a few weeks. Someone else is making a matching bustle to go with it, and I’m contemplating a black feather choker… it would be PERFECT for a masquerade party too! If only they happened more often. Hmm. Maybe that Reluctant Entertainer book I got this week can tell me how to throw one myself! LOL

I got the 2011 Writer’s Market, a giant doorstop of a book that claims it will help me get published. I wonder if it also does dishes…

Jessica — Ooh, writing magazine! I find reading writing articles either jump-starts my muse, or makes me want to crawl back into bed. Haha.

Barbara — For the price of that thing, it had better do your laundry and change the oil in your car, too…!
