Perfectionism

There’s a great post over at MFA Confidential by Kate Monahan called “We all have bad writing days, but isn’t something better than nothing?” and I encourage you to head over there and read it.

It’s about finding time to write and dealing with perfectionism & procrastination. It’s a bit convicting (I found myself nodding like a bobble-head doll while reading it), but hopefully you’ll be encouraged by it as well.

Thanks for the link. I have no problem with perfectionism when I write the rough draft. But revisions take forever because I’m SO picky about my words and phrases.

Revisions can drag on forever when you’re looking to get it ‘just right’! I feel that way too, a bit… nothing is ever good enough. But how fortunate that your rough drafts don’t give you trouble!

Oh my, I love to procrastinate and play Bejeweled and Farmville on FB. Sad, isn’t it? I was doing the bobble-head with you!!! I can so relate.

I wrote a blog last week that I’m planning to post later this week that begs the question, “Is it better to write through it on bad days or should we take the day off?” It’s an interesting topic. I’ll go check the blog out.

Sherrinda – I refuse to start those games on FB!!! People get so addicted! Of course, it doesn’t help that I have a Nintendo DS and a PSP right next to my computer… *oops*

Jessica & Aubrie – Oh, blog reading is such an easy way to procrastinate! And it eats away time faster than I expect, every time!

Stephanie – That sounds like a post I need to read! I’m interested in your take on it :)
